Juliet Gold Leaf Caned Bed

Our Juliet gold leaf caned bed has a playful, romantic look inspired by the Rococo style of 18th century France and is available up to superking and emperor bed sizes.  The headboards incorporate an exquisite floral basket design, while the bedposts are decorated with intricate carvings.  Shown here in a gold leaf finish, this luxury bed can also be hand painted, upholstered or finished in silver leaf.

DELIVERY CHECKLIST

You will be advised of an approximate delivery date at the point of order and this will vary depending on whether the item is in stock, to be ordered and if any special finishes or upholstery are required.  When we contact you to arrange delivery of your furniture, we will ask these questions:

Are there any access issues?  For example, road width, overhanging trees, cul-de-sacs (turning circle), driveways, tunnels, archways, gates, hedges (covering walls), security gates (codes) and parking restrictions.

Are there any restrictions inside your house? For example staircases, banisters, furniture in corridors, pictures or paintings on the walls.  Is there space in the room for your new furniture?

Will you be there to supervise delivery? If not, is someone else clear about exactly where the furniture should be located?

CARE FOR YOUR GILDED WOODEN BED

Gilded qualities
Each piece of gold or silver leaf is individually applied to our beds by hand. This can create a chequerboard effect as each sheet of gold or silver is approximately 15 – 20cms square. Once finished, the gilding is then expertly distressed to further enhance the aged appearance, thereby giving each piece its own character and charm. However, the gold and silver is inherently delicate and knocks or abrasions may cause small pieces of leaf to flake off.

Cleaning your gilded bed
To clean your gilded wooden bed, we recommend that you simply dust it with a clean cloth.

Moving the bed
The mattress and base are both supported on the bed. So do not move the bed without first removing the mattress and base system. Do not pull or push the bed from the head or foot end only, as this may cause serious damage. Instead, with one person on either side of the bed, hold the frame at the midway point, and carefully lift or slide the bed into position
