Louis XV Caned Sofa

The Louis XV caned sofa echoes classic French 18^th century designs with its playful, romantic style. Hand-caned with ornate carving, this beautiful sofa has a distressed paint finish and can be upholstered either in calico or in a luxurious fabric, as seen here.

Luxury beds and a full range of co-ordinating bedroom furniture including bedside units, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe are also available.

DELIVERY CHECKLIST

You will be advised of an approximate delivery date at the point of order and this will vary depending on whether the item is in stock, to be ordered and if any special finishes or upholstery are required.  When we contact you to arrange delivery of your furniture, we will ask these questions:

Are there any access issues?  For example, road width, overhanging trees, cul-de-sacs (turning circle), driveways, tunnels, archways, gates, hedges (covering walls), security gates (codes) and parking restrictions.

Are there any restrictions inside your house? For example staircases, banisters, furniture in corridors, pictures or paintings on the walls.  Is there space in the room for your new furniture?

Will you be there to supervise delivery? If not, is someone else clear about exactly where the furniture should be located?

CARE FOR YOUR LEATHER OR UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE

As we offer a wide variety of different fabrics for our upholstered furniture, we strongly recommend using a professional cleaning service if you wish to clean an upholstered item or remove a stain.

Leather qualities
Real leather is a natural product and genuine hides will show the ‘hallmarks of life’ making each bed unique. Your leather bed will mellow and develop a patina which will enhance its beauty. Several hides are usually required, so there may be some variation in shades. Water-based vegetable dyes penetrate each hide to a differing degree so there may be some variations in colour. Colour samples are only a guide. We use a range of leather qualities, from soft to firmer hides. Softer hides may develop wrinkles and creases during the first weeks of use. This is normal and not a cause for concern.

Moving furniture
Never move a fully loaded wardrobe. Instead, empty the contents first. When positioning a wardrobe, ensure it is on a level surface so that the doors will open and close correctly. Never pick up a chest by holding on to its top surface. Instead, hold the sides of the chest and lift. Where possible, use two or more people to move heavy items of furniture.
