Bespoke Bedroom Furniture - Meaning & Cost - And So To Bed

Why you would choose bespoke bedroom furniture

When it comes to furnishing your home, often having a catalogue of options to choose from is a wonderful thing. After all, variety is the spice of life and if you’re not quite sure what you want, having lots of designs and colours to look at means you can refine your ideas and make an informed decision about your next purchase.

However, sometimes you just know exactly what you want, but there doesn’t seem to be anything out there that quite fits the bill. So what’s the solution?

Going bespoke

Well, when it comes to beds and furniture, going bespoke may just give you everything you want and more. Fundamentally it means you get a unique product designed especially for you, just the way you want it. Sound tempting?

Commissioning a bespoke bed can mean anything from amendments to existing ranges, like adding extra length to beds for taller people or special widths to fit a particular room size, to more lavish and unique styling, such as special paint finishes like zebra stripes or a purple base with pink spots – all hand applied of course! Perhaps exquisite finishing touches like 24 carat gold handles or diamond inserts would help you get a better night’s sleep?

And So To Bed offers an exclusive bespoke service, where you imagine a picture of your dream bed, we help to draw it and then create it from scratch just for you. Last year we were asked to quote for a luxurious four poster bed in solid brass, based on a sketch a customer had drawn. Other designs have included a 13ft high gothic gazebo and the magnificent shell bed.

The cost of bespoke

Of course bespoke does come at a premium – but you get something that no one else in the world has got. In many cases, an entire production team have to halt work on their standard lines to work on one piece and because of the nature of one-off pieces, we must pay a premium for the small quantities of each material required. The drawings require lots of design input and specialist skills to turn someone else’s vision into a real life creation and several design stages are needed to ensure the vision is drawn up to scale and the very best quantity of materials are selected.

All our designs must be signed off and approved by the customer, and our promise is to ensure we get everything just right. So when only your dream bed will do, come to us and we’ll turn that dream into a reality.
